Push Your Limits!
Rita from Portugal, Winter Semester 2016/17
I spent one semester at RheinAhrCampus. I got the chance to be a student and an intern here. Being an Erasmus is an amazing experience that every person should have at least once in their lives. You are confronted to a whole different world and you are given the chance to make friends for life. For me this was a period of personal and professional growth.
The fact that you are abroad and on your own automatically makes you become more responsible and fit for life. You push your limits further and discover that they actually are made up in your mind and that things just get easier after a while.
At Campus classes are very interesting and more practical than back home. I had the chance to do some extra classes about some topics of my interest, which was really great because they will be useful for my Master. I also passed the TOEFL test for free and therefore have an extra certificate. Besides this, I participated in some projects, organized activities and took part in many others. I improved my language skills and I became more confident about myself.
My internship was very enriching as well and now I know more about Germany and the way people work in here. The most challenging task was organizing MCD (Managing Cultural Diversity) seminar, but at the end it felt amazing because we did a great job.
Besides all the academic related things, I got the chance to travel around a little bit. It’s true that I am quite addicted to travelling so, as soon as I arrived to Germany, I went to Denmark and Sweden. Then, I went on a trip to Belgium with my international friends. I also travelled to the Netherlands and discovered various cities in Germany such as Cologne, Aachen, Düsseldorf and Nuremberg.
I am happy to say that I have amazing friends from all over the world. We shared really good moments and I broadened my cultural awareness. Now I look at the world not only from my perspective, but also from theirs. I will miss them and I will miss Remagen, but it will never be a goodbye. It will always be a see you soon!
