Larger than life
Beyza from Turkey, Winter Semester 2022/2023
Hi all…
My name is Beyza Nur, and I want to share with you my stay in Remagen, Germany where it was an incredibly exciting time. I had the opportunity to meet people from all around the world and learn in a multicultural setting.
One of the most memorable experiences was attending the international studies course where I met individuals from countries such as South Korea, Georgia, and Iraq. Not only did I get to practice my English language skills, but I also got to learn about different cultures and customs. I remember having a long conversation with my friends from Georgia about the festivals and traditions of their country, I also enjoyed a lot trying different types of food from different countries in the international dinner event, and it was amazing how everyone was so open and eager to share their culture. I also took classes, where I was able to learn from instructors and classmates from diverse backgrounds. This added a new dimension to my learning experience and allowed me to gain a more global perspective on the subjects we were studying. I was particularly impressed by the variety of perspectives and ideas that were shared in the MCD seminar, it was fascinating to see how different cultural backgrounds can shape the way people think and approach problems.
Aside from the academic aspect of my stay, I also had the opportunity to explore the local area and experience German culture. I visited historic sites such as the Remagen Bridge and took part in traditional festivals and events such as the mesmerizing Christmas markets. I enjoyed a lot visiting the bridge and learning about its historical significance, and I also loved how the city of Remagen is so full of life, even if it is arguably very small, it is a perfect mix of modernity and tradition.
I also made many friends during my stay in Germany, people from all around the world that I am sure I will keep in touch with for a long time. I think that one of the most valuable things that I gained from this experience is the friendships that I made, the people that I met, and the memories that I created with them.
My stay in Germany was an unforgettable experience. I am grateful for the opportunity to have met so many wonderful people and to have had the chance to learn in a multicultural setting. It has greatly expanded my understanding and appreciation for different cultures and ways of life. It was an experience that broadened my horizons and gave me a new perspective on the world. It was an experience that I would recommend to anyone who is looking for an opportunity to learn and grow as a person.
