The standard study time for the Master program Management, Leadership, Innovation (MLI) is 4 semesters (2 years). The course concludes with a final thesis.
The academic year consists of the
- summer semester (beginning of March to end of August) and
- winter semester (beginning of September to end of February)

Recognised language certificates for the Master's degree program
The program Management, Leadership, Innovation and all its modules are completely held in English.
German is not mandatory for this study program. Language requirements: English B2 or higher.
We accept internationally recognized language tests that correspond to level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for languages.
Examples of Accepted Language Tests:
1. TOEFL: paper‐based: 543 points, computer‐based: 212 points, Internet‐based: B2 level points, iBT: 72 points.
2. TOEIC: B2 level points.
3. University of Cambridge: FCE grade B or above, BEC Vantage, CELS Higher.
4. IELTS: Minimum Band 6.0.
5. GMAT: minimum 600.
6. ILEC: B2 and C1.
MLI Highlights during the degree program
While studying MLI, students progress in gaining a deep understanding of innovation management and coaching, product development processes, digital business models and intercultural leadership in the program-specific in-depth modules of the Master's degree program in Management, Leadership, Innovation - with intensive supervision in small groups.

4. Semester: Practice Project
Practical relevance should be at the heart of a study program, which focuses on innovation management and entrepreneurship. Lectures and seminars focus on practical knowledge with real-world examples and collaborations with national and global organizations provide hands-on networking opportunities for capstone projects and future employment prospects.
The fourth semester is completed through practice project studies involving real-world problems from the daily operations of businesses, including those in partnership with our university, that students learn how to solve and bring value to the business customers.
5. Registering your Master’s Thesis
- Read the examination regulations: Before registering your thesis, ensure that you have carefully read the examination regulations. This is essential to verify that all formal requirements are fulfilled.
- Choose a topic: Select a topic, ideally based on your personal interests and academic strengths.
- Arrange supervision: Contact a professor who is willing to supervise your thesis. The topic and supervision are to be agreed upon with your chosen supervisor.
- Complete the registration form: Fill out the official thesis registration form. Have it signed by both of your supervisors.
- Submit the form: Send the signed registration form by email to the relevant examination office.
- Confirmation by the examination office: The examination office will record your registration and send you a written confirmation that includes the official submission deadline. This confirmation must be kept safely and retained until your thesis is submitted.
