Prof. Dr. Nils Rauhut (Coastal Carolina University) 2013
International Electives for M.A. Students
Prof. Dr. Nils Rauhut from Coastal Carolina University in Conway, South Carolina, offered two electives for our M.A. students in Business Administration during the second teaching term of the 2013 summer semester. By using teaching methods, media and assessment methods commonly used in the USA, he was able to provide our graduate students with some valuable impressions of the academic environment in the United States.
In fact, the electives "Ethics of Leadership" and "Philosophy of Science", which were offered for the first time, were completely booked out only shortly after the end of the registration period. The high demand for the two electives indicates that there is a real need for students to address philosophical issues which may have an impact on their future business lives. Many of the concepts from the areas of leadership ethics and theory of science were new to the students - and encouraged them to raise new questions, read extensively and engage in highly interesting seminar discussions.
Prof. Rauhut's stay at RheinAhrCampus was embedded into our long-standing cooperation activities with Coastal Carolina University and Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg. The exchange activities include a highly successful Summer School Program and a successful student exchange for study abroad. Prof. Rauhut first visited our university to teach a seminar on the Philosophy of Economics in 2008. For more information, please contact Jens Andreas Faulstich.
