Rhine Experience 2011
THE SUMMER SCHOOL PROJECT 2011 RHINE EXPERIENCE
Environmental Economics - Global Issues and Agreements
Jens Andreas Faulstich welcomed the students of this year's Maymester Program to Remagen. In an introductory session, the US students were informed about their study abroad opportunities at RheinAhrCampus Remagen.
Afterwards Prof. Dr. Yoav Wachsman worked with students of the International Studies II elective at RheinAhrCampus and the CCU students to introduce them to the reasons for the increased demand for alternative energy and the most common sources of renewable energy.
Students had prepared statements about the use of renewable energy sources in their home countries so that they could contribute to the discussion and provide insights about a wide range of countries, including South Korea, Ukraine, Australia, Hungary and Russia.
An excursion to Solar World AG on the second day of the seminar enabled the students to familiarise themselves with the global activities of one major player in the renewable energy sector. Social activities like the interactive rally of Bonn and the Rheinauen BBQ helped to foster informal communication and personal contacts.
This module was part of an intensive study program for Part I of the International Summer School Program organised by Coastal Carolina University, HS Bonn-Rhein-Sieg and RheinAhrCampus Remagen.
