Study content in the Business Administration Master's programme

The Business Administration programme has a modular structure. Students acquire business administration know-how and cross-industry management skills. The students' schedule includes lectures on economics, business and labour law, marketing, investment and financing and controlling. The specialisations include lectures on health economics, social law or logistics management and supply chain management. Students also learn problem-solving and leadership skills as well as methodological and social skills during their studies.

Objective of the Business Administration Master's programme

Building on the Bachelor of Arts or a comparable degree, the RheinAhrCampus offers a Master's degree as a consecutive programme.

After passing the examinations and the final thesis, students are awarded with the internationally recognised academic degree "Master of Arts" in Business Administration.

In the Master’s Thesis, students are expected to develop and justify a well-founded position on the used scientific theories. This clearly exceeds the requirement level of a final thesis of the Bachelor's degree.

The comprehensive application of scientific methods and theories to solve a specific problem in the Master's thesis are solid proof of the student's ability to earn a doctorate.

Professions and career opportunities after graduating with a Master of Arts

The study programme is designed to provide students with business administration know-how and management skills across all industries. Therefore, job opportunities can be found in all areas of business management. In the two specialisations, particularly the following fields of employment are open to Master's students after graduation:

For students specialising in Logistics and E-business:

Master's graduates with this specialisiation can take on logistics and e-business tasks in companies in the fields of industry and trade, logistics services and transport, recycling and waste disposal, or e-commerce and IT tasks in the service sector. Fields of employment in senior civil service are also possible, for instance with federal agencies and ministries in the transport and economics sector as well as economic development offices of cities and communities, regional councils and chambers of industry and commerce.

For students specialising in Health and Social Management

The postgraduate modules in this specialisation qualify students for professions in the entire health care and social economy. Important employers include: hospitals, youth welfare facilities, elderly and disabled care, pharmaceutical companies, cost carriers (e.g. health insurance companies), consulting firms and medical wellness companies. The M.A. degree also allows for a career in senior civil service, for instance at institutes (e.g. Robert Koch Institute) and at federal and state ministries of health and social affairs.
